Yup, that sure was uneventful. My heart didn't jump up into my throat at any point in it, nope.
In all seriousness though, this is probably my favourite chapter yet. You handled it very well; Louie's change of mind could of gone wrong narratively in so many ways, but I believed it all the way. Fantastic job.
@Rakewn: It had one event but a long dreaded and expected event and you also showed that Elis doesn't have that good of a school life.
THEY ARE HOLDING HANDS
THAT'S SO CUTE
and I agree with Passerby... uneventful my ass
I absolutely love this story, I would totally buy the book if there was one available...
Dear god, I loved this chapter QwQ
Not to minimize Ellis' problems, because everyone's problems seem ghastly huge to them and are challenges for a reason, but I think he just got a refresher on Chip's hard times and Family Woes and that kind of put things in perspective. So he's like 'Yeah, I'm fine. No one lit my temporary housing on fire while I was still in it.'
uguuuu i love these two ;u; they're so cute and supportive of each other 8D stay strong you guys! think of grumpy cat and be happy
@passerby: aahh thank you! I was definitely worried about how to handle Louie's change of mind here, so I'm happy to hear it was believable!
@imightbeapanda: thank you! unfortunately i don't know how likely a book would be, but maybe someday ??
@That purple monster: thank you!!
In any case, it originally sounded and seems like Louie's little brother is being hunted down by someone which is why Louie is so protective. But I too think his actions matched how he should react if hes conflicted with emotions of making sure his lil bro is somewhere he can be safe and happy, over the alternative of being locked away in a false world.
